Sculptra
Sculptra
Sculptra is an FDA-approved dermal filler that smooths deep wrinkles like marionette lines and reverses volume loss that causes sunken cheeks, skin wrinkles, and hollow temples. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, PLLA, a biocompatible artificial material that adds volume and stimulates new collagen production. Sculptra is longer-lasting than hyaluronic acid, HA, filler, but it is not recommended for lip or under-eye filler use.
Sculptra is unique because it causes collagen creation underneath your skin and acts as a primer to regrow lost collagen. No other dermal filler on the market has the same mechanism of action as Sculptra. In addition, Sculptra is one of the longest-lasting injectable treatments, and results can last up to three years. This lasting ability stimulates natural collagen production to improve results over time. As a result, the best results from Sculptra injections appear four to six months post-treatment. Since results improve gradually, it isn’t obvious to anyone else that you have had something done to your face.
Sculptra has minimal downtime, but you need the patience to see the results of treatments. You will likely need multiple treatments over a few months to gain your desired results. After a Sculptra treatment, there may be some bruising and swelling, but these side effects go away quickly.
